      We’re currently looking for a number of Manufacturing & Product Engineering Interns to join our team in Smyrna, TN.

      During your 12-week internship, you will have the chance to work in one of the following areas:

      • New Model Body Engineering
        • Learn fundamentals of the vehicle assembly process and assist engineers on with daily activities
        • Project management activities for the development process of a new vehicle
      • Body & Stamping
        • Support development of new stamping die tooling from design through start of production
        • Analyze part quality using statistical process control, and successful launch of new tooling in a production facility
      • Trim & Chassis
        • Provides engineering support for the development, production and quality of new and current manufactured vehicles within assigned area at NNA manufacturing plants.
      • New Model Paint Engineering
        • Project management activities for the development process of a new vehicle and new paint materials
        • Cross functional experience working with production management and technicians, maintenance and process engineers
        • Collaborate with engineering team to program robots
      • Parts Quality Engineering
        • Support new vehicle model launch from production trials to public release
        • Analyze field quality issues and manufacturing related issues on current production vehicles and future models
        • Conduct quality audit of supplier parts and troubleshoot issues
      • Vehicle Quality Assurance
        • Troubleshoot warranty concerns which include process reviews, root cause analysis, manage countermeasure trials, and perform problem solving and analysis
      • Systems Engineering
        • Analyze efficiency of manufacturing process for current vehicles
        • Create software solutions to improve manufacturing process
      • Facilities Engineering
        • Collaborate with Facilities, Energy and Environmental engineering teams to develop and manage HVAC and energy saving projects
        • Analyze energy efficiencies and suggest process improvements
      • Powertrain Engineering
        • Provide engineering support V6 assembly process for new model vehicle launch
        • Work cross functionally with engineering teams to learn Kaizen approach to manufacturing, powertrain durability and confirmation testing
      • Industrial Engineering
        • Evaluate and analyze job cycle productivity
        • Identify and implement productivity improvements
        • Develop labor requirements and costs for new product studies
      • Safety Engineering
        • Analysis and audit of workforce safety training protocols, regulation compliance and application of safety regulations

      You will be expected to manage short-term project(s) and structure strategic recommendations in presentation format to the Management team. Day or regional travel may be required depending on your function.

      In order to qualify for this role, you must:

      • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate Engineering degree program
      • Minimum 3.0 GPA
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
      • Project Management skills (organization and time management skills)
      • Be ambitious and possess creative problem solving skills
      • Demonstrate professionalism and clear communication abilities
      • Be comfortable presenting to Management Team
