Internships for the summer of 2024 are available for Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors who are focusing in an Electrical, Mechanical, Operations or Industrial Engineering discipline. These openings are located at our Rock Cut and Loves Park Campuses in Loves Park, IL.
Our interns will participate is aerospace engineering projects and programs to support our production and design teams. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Operations or Industrial Engineer Interns will assist in the following:
· Supporting the production lines equipment and day to day processes
· Troubleshooting non-confirming parts to drive Root Cause/Corrective Actions
· Working with programs/software including but not limited to NPI programs, CREO Parametric, EFMS, PowerBI, Visio,
· Understanding and writing MIS Instructions
· Learning the processing of parts through the shop floor, validating and creating work instructions
· Participating in continuous improvement projects to improve on time delivery and production rates
· Perform time and capacity studies
· Creating process plans and/or drawings, work instructions and manufacturing processes
Mechanical Engineer Interns will assist in the following:
· Supporting the manufacturing floor by dispositioning of non-conforming products
· Performing root cause investigations and initiating corrective actions
· Investigating various issues on the manufacturing floor and production lines
· Working with programs/software including but not limited to CREO Parametric, Matlab, Excel, Visio, WindChill, etc.
· Assisting with certifying testing procedures (pressure, vibration, performance, etc.
· Reviewing and writing data reports
· Creating standard work for engineering support
Electrical Engineer Interns will assist in the following:
· Updating electrical equipment for technicians
· Supporting test and development technicians on the shop floor
· Working with programs/software including but not limited to Matlab, EES, Excel, Visio, CREO, etc.
· Performing data processing and analysis from validation testing
· Assisting with product certification with FAA
All interns may rotate assignments to gain additional experience and knowledge and will participate in a year-end presentation of their Woodward internship experience
!*!What We Are Looking For
· Candidates must be a current Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an applicable/relevant Engineering discipline
· Candidates must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA
