- Operations Support : Support engineering activities at facilities including shut down inspections on various different systems, equipment condition assessments, plant performance testing and general troubleshooting.
- Operations & Maintenance Standards Support : Support technical standards development, execution, and tracking across the fleet. This includes the collection and review of plant technical information, coordinating input from technical SMEs to assess health of Technical Standards, supporting the implementation of the technical variance and facility change notice processes, etc.
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in an Electrical / Mechanical / Chemical engineering role
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data to identify trends is required.
- Effective written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple assignments.
- Ability to function in a multi-discipline team.
- Must be able to travel independently to facilities across the country if needed
- Must be able to perform plant walk-downs and inspections around heavy industrial equipment within the Waste-to-Energy facilities
- Work with industry experts and gain valuable knowledge, develop new skills, and establish a network of mentors and business contacts.
- Learn all about Waste to Energy operations at the company.
- Participate in leadership talks, skill building workshops, facility tours, and networking events.

What You'll Do:
The Operational Support Engineering Intern will be a member of the Engineering teams within the Corporate Engineering function. The team’s scope covers operations support for all aspects of the Energy-from-Waste process at 40+ facilities globally. This includes boilers, combustion and steam generation systems, turbine, balance of plant auxiliaries, air pollution control systems, emissions control, refuse and ash handling systems etc.
The Operational Support Engineering Intern will go through a summer internship program for 3 months and will be assigned to the Technical Standards Engineering department. In this role, you will perform tasks under the supervision and mentorship of subject matter experts from both departments on a variety of different systems. Under the supervision of corporate engineering, the Engineering intern role provides design and operations engineering support to Energy-from-Waste facilities across the fleet, including operations and maintenance support. This role includes regular travel to facilities to gain onsite exposure and support engineering tasks.
