      The Opportunity

      Your internship with Ally will move you from Educated to Experienced; connecting you with diverse teams and functions across the country. You will have the opportunity to interact with Ally's leadership and learn from their personal successes. The Ally internship program seeks to guide and mentor students with development opportunities designed to provide a bridge between the academic world and the world of business.

      Areas of Opportunity
      • Ally Home: Throughout the Ally Home internship you will gain an understanding of mortgage industry programs, such as housing affordability and government programs. Analyze mortgage market landscape, looking for both strengths and weaknesses as well as area of opportunities. Learn how governance, credit risk, analytics, and pricing help to collectively drive business results within the company.
      • Lending: There are a few different areas within Lending we have opportunities within: Operations, Customer Care, Fraud, Portfolio Management, Digital Product, Business Support, BL Risk and Sales. As a Lending intern, you will receive the opportunity to work with your perspective team on the projects that are in motion.
      • Ally Card Strategy: You’ll receive an opportunity to develop our understanding of Macro/benchmarking to the industry.
      • Ally Card Digital Marketing Channels: You will be analyzing historical data and pitching a new test with a large digital affiliate partner.
      • Ally Card Product Segments: You will contribute to our Prime (credit score) segment growth agenda. You will use market research, historical product testing, and business judgement to discover a growth opportunity / optimization and propose an in-market change or test.
      • BL Risk: The BLR intern will be assisting in the build out and deployment of risk analysis and reporting capabilities within CCB BLR, developing and publishing risk-related reporting on trends and measures, drafting presentations to communicate risk trends to all levels of management, and assisting in the development and implementation of various processes to drive consistency across all CCB business lines.
      • Consumer Insights & Innovation (consumer research, analytics, communication, POV - POV is dedicated to leveraging thought leadership from financial experts at Ally to create relevant, bite-sized content that strives to personify and humanize the Ally brand as well as build awareness, trust and credibility, and empower consumers to live their best financial lives.
      • CX Analytics: This is a great opportunity for an intern interested in data science and data analytics to get hands-on experience directly in the field. From data gathering, analyzing, modeling, and reporting, the team works directly in each area, and the intern can learn these skills from start to finish. The intern will provide new ideas and much needed support to the small team with a large amount of work.
      • Communications: The Consumer Insights & Innovation team serves as an innovation hub for One Ally, and we are hiring an exceptional communications Intern to help drive home our holistic consumer strategy and unique value proposition. The intern will partner in the development of best-in-class communication and engagement strategies, plans, and tactics. Leverage knowledge of front-end web design, typography, photography, multimedia, storytelling and problem-solving into powerful deliverables that deliver insights in a unique way. Design dynamic creative assets for multi-channel communications (e.g. print, digital, information graphics, environmental graphics, web, interactive, motion graphics, video, and editorial design).
      • TM Studios: Interns should come from Moguls in the Making program (not necessarily winning team but interview best participants) or ALPFA. The Studio offers an excellent opportunity for interns to learn and utilize human-centered design in an environment that requires (and develops) critical skills such as communication, problem definition, empathy, research, and ideation techniques. All of these skills will be beneficial to the interns in their future career, as well as to the Studio in solving unique problems. This internship also provides an opportunity to work in many different ways, allowing possibilities for future employment in different groups.
      • Community Reinvestment Act (CRA): The intern will receive the opportunity to work with team originating, closing, and monitoring CRA's small business and venture capital debt and equity investments.
      • Deposit Ops: Primary focus on Deposit Operations Portfolio. Lead a workstream within the DO Portfolio including the ownership of Jira/Confluence pages in addition to creation and movement of the work through the Operating Model. Understand how to demonstrate work through Governance and Operating model channels for review/approval. Outline clear objectives and measurements to demonstrate success of the work performed.
      • Deposit Product Management: Supporting the Deposits business with ad hoc analysis and business intelligence reporting. Customer experience analysis, product development and design.
      • Wealth Management: Wealth Product Management. Problem Solving, Resiliency, flexibility, Communication and Creativity.
      • Invest Analytics: Supporting the Invest business with ad hoc analysis and business intelligence reporting. Communication, Problem Solving, Data Analysis, SQL, Power BI
      • Invest Business Development: Will focus on learning about how revenue is generated at invest, how to construct a solid business case, how to include risk in the decision-making process, retail brokerage core capabilities.
      • Ally Experience Transformation (AXT): At the epicenter of the Ally’s contact centers, the C3 Product intern will gain experience on how to drive the strategy for the tools/applications that power the associate and customer experience within the contact center. This will include first-hand experiences including: Partner with Product Owner and/or Associate Product Owners to gather product requirements. Engage in co-creation, knowledge sharing, constructive critique, and process improvement with various business and technology partners/stakeholders. Participate in Ally’s Agile Scrum and Product Management frameworks. Collaborate with project management and operational readiness partners to drive product initiatives from start to finish, and help manage project/program success.
