      Job Summary

      PSEG is looking for a summer law clerk to support the various functions of PSEG’s legal department.

      This position will be hybrid.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Assignments will include:

      • Assisting the legal department’s attorneys with a wide range of projects that may be focused on any of the following areas: environmental, labor and employment; commercial; corporate; ethics and compliance; state and federal regulatory; property; bankruptcy; privacy; cyber security; corporate secretary; and general litigation.
      • Conducting legal research.
      • Drafting memos and other legal documents.
      • Reviewing and analyzing documents.
      • Shadowing attorneys at various legal proceedings, hearings, and/or meetings.

      Job Specific Qualifications

      • CURRENT LAW STUDENT WHO HAS COMPLETED BY JUNE AT LEAST THEIR FIRST YEAR OF LAW SCHOOL (OR EVENING STUDENT EQUIVALENT)
      • PROFICIENT IN USE OF WESTLAW
      • ABILITY TO COMPLETE LEGAL RESEARCH AND WRITING ASSIGNMENTS WITHIN ESTABLISHED DEADLINES AND WITH MINIMAL OR MODERATE GUIDANCE.
      • ABILITY TO RESEARCH AND ARTICULATE THE LAW ON A WIDE VARIETY OF LEGAL SUBJECTS, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS RESEARCH MAY BE USED BY PRACTICING ATTORNEYS IN THEIR REPRESENTATION OF THE COMPANY.
      • UNDERGRADUATE BA/BS DEGREE FROM AN ACCREDITED COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY

      DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Law school GPA OF 3.2 OR ABOVE
      • GRADE OF B+ OR ABOVE IN LEGAL RESEARCH & WRITING COURSE
