      Summer Intern, Accounting/Reporting Assistant (ARA)

      The Intern, ARA is responsible for providing transactional support for multiple processes within the organization accounting department. The individual will focus primarily on the facilities management services division of our business.

      Contract dates: May-August 2024

      Work arrangement: hybrid, 1-2 times in office at Markham

      Roles and Responsibilities:

      Accounting Support

      • Assists the team with data entry and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records.
      • Assist with gathering and analyzing back-up support for subledger and journal entries
      • Assists in analysis, consolidation and streamlining of budgeting and forecasting process.
      • Assists in performing balance sheet and account reconciliations as needed.
      • Compile and analyze data during the month end reporting process, track information, and support the company or client.
      • Other duties as assigned

      Audit Support

      • Files, maintains and retrieves documentations for audit support
      • Other duties as assigned

      Who are you?

      • Currently enrolled in and working towards a university/college degree preferably in accounting
      • Ability to execute work according to established procedures
      • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations – addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, along with ability to identify inaccuracies in data
      • Ability to process a high volume of data requiring strong attention to detail and accuracy
      • Ability to communicate effectively with others for the purpose of data exchange, clarification and dispute resolution
      • Ability to exercise judgment
      • Proficient with accounting systems, MS Office Excel and other MS Office software applications along with ability to quickly learn other information systems and software applications
