      The Seminole County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for our SUMMER INTERNSHIP - VOLUNTEER PROGRAM. All applications require a notarized Background Waiver and a Hold Harmless Agreement included in the links provided and are to be uploaded to your before you can submit your application. Applications will be accepted until WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 25TH, 2025.

      The Internship Program is a 15-week volunteer program beginning tentatively May 13th, 2025 until August 29th, 2025. Interns that are eligible may choose to extend their internship at a later date.

      The Internship Program offers an opportunity for Junior, Senior and Master's students enrolled at a local College or University to receive a hands on experience within a law enforcement agency. Those applicable are eligible to receive school credit. Interns are asked to complete 12-25 hours per week dependent on the division assigned. Building hours are from 8:00-5:00 PM Monday-Friday (for the exception of agency events), hours are often flexible and can be arranged according to a student's academic/work schedule.

      Dependent on availability, Interns have the opportunity to be placed in one of the many divisions throughout the agency, including Investigations, Digital Forensics (Master's Students Only), Administrative Services, Professional Development, Domestic Security or Youth Services . Students will gain hands on experience with an opportunity for school credit. While interns will be expected to complete their duties from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, some Intern positions will have the flexibility to work on assignments from locations outside of the office.

      Tasks vary dependent upon the division assigned and can include but not limited to:
      • Clerical/analytical work
      • Data entry/collection
      • Updating files
      • Assistance/facilitation of programs
      • Property follow-up
      • Research
      • Background Investigations
      • Enrolled in a local College or University as a Junior, Senior or Graduate student
      • Excellent verbal/written skills
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
      • Ability to complete 15-week volunteer program
      • Ability to pass a background investigation
      • Ability to pass a drug screen and computerized voice stress analysis test
      • Submit a notarized Background Waiver
      • Submit a Hold Harmless Agreement
      • Submit copy of Birth Certificate
      • Submit copy of Driver's License
      • Submit copy of Social Security Card
      • Submit copy of Official College Transcript
