What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist a postdoctoral research associate and Research Scientist on mycology and epidemiology projects
- Support laboratory research (75% of time) and field work (25% of time) at research stations
- Perform DNA extraction and amplification using regular and qPCR techniques
- Engage in pure culturing and other mycology-based techniques
- Travel to various research stations in Wisconsin for applied field trials

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office
- Ability to obtain a UW driver authorization
- Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques including solution concentration and dilution calculations
- Flexibility to work in varying environments (laboratory and field)

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Prior experience in molecular techniques is a plus but not required
- Interest in agricultural sciences and research
