Job Summary

We currently searching for a Superintendent, Operations at our Melt Shop in Latrobe, PA. In this role you will be responsible for all operations, safety, maintenance, and quality items related to the AOD Melt Shop. You will direct and manage all personnel associated with both day-to-day and continuous improvement activities in these areas. You will also be responsible for budget/cost activities of the melt shop, as well as coordinating capital, major maintenance, rebuild requirements in the areas to assure total facility objectives are met.

Essential Functions

• Directs all day-to-day manufacturing, maintenance and quality related activities in the melting area.
• Responsible for training related activities of both the salary and hourly workforce.
• Oversees technical improvements to both the products and processes via RCM, capital, and/or major maintenance projects and continuous improvement programs.
• Administers the safety programs in area of responsibility.
• Responsible for fiscal performance relative to overall cost control and product profitability.
• Responsible for the full deployment of daily management as it relates to quality, yield, equipment efficiency, cost, etc.
• Oversees all continuous improvement programs

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operations Leader/supervisor in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical field.

Skills

• Possess strong knowledge of the EAF and AOD processes
• Excellent oral, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with employees at all levels
• Strong interpersonal skills with the professionalism to be approachable and an active listener
• Demonstrated ability to identify and implement continuous improvement in all areas of the business
• Possess strong knowledge of AOD, EAF and ladle refractories
• Able to understand and manage the impact of people, equipment, and inventory on the business
• Able to formulate and document work instructions
• Proven ability to effectively lead, coach, mentor, guide and develop subordinates
• Strong background in Safety
• Ability to build constructive and effective relationships throughout the organization
• Excellent computer skills
