- High School Diploma preferred
- Previous healthcare cleaning experience preferred
- Driver's license required and ability to provide a good driving record
- Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions
- Must, after brief training, be able to demonstrate the correct use of chemicals, supplies, and tools.
- Must be able to pass test of skill and mechanical aptitude to detect equipment malfunctions for safety to others
- Orients new employees to the department within one week.
- Trains and educates employees to help employees improve processes, become more efficient and to better meet customer needs.
- Reviews work and provides feedback to staff
- Assists manager by performing part or the manager’s entire job for short periods of time as needed so that departmental goals and tasks can be met/exceeded.
- Updates and organizes work schedules to assure proper schedule coverage, in staffing shortages or tight deadlines
- Maintains an up to date log of vacations and day off requests to assure proper coverage.
- Reviews supply levels and documents items needed on a daily basis.
- Documents monthly supply levels to ensure consistency and orders are placed as needed.
- Converses with other appropriate department contacts to confirm approval of designated project work.
- Compares weekly payroll with the weekly schedule to track accuracy and potential problems.
- Maintains records regarding hours used per week and reasons why.
- Manages and obtains all pertinent documentation needed for the daily operation of the department
- Manages and updates all information and records needed for Health and State Inspections
- Possesses skills to cover on any position that is vacant
- Assumes manager’s duties / responsibilities when absent
- Maintains a safe environment for patients by assuring that sharp objects, toxic substances and other objects potentially harmful to children are not accessible
- Assures that the environment of care or services is free of objects which may contribute to the likelihood of patient falls, slips or trips. Makes readily available assistive devices for ambulation
- Is aware of the increased risk of falls, slips, and trips for elderly patients and visitors, and assures that the environment of care or services is free of objects and spills which may contribute to the likelihood of patient falls, slips, or trips.
- Is sensitive to the tendency of older patients to have hearing difficulties. Verifies that he or she is speaking with appropriate level of loudness so that the patient hears instructions, questions, and conversations with caregiver, but that offense is not given to the patient as the result of the voice being excessively loud. Is able to differentiate problems with hearing versus problems with comprehension
- Takes appropriate actions to assure physical security of children and complies with policies and procedures related to the prevention of neonate, infant and child abduction.
