      Supervisor of Payroll Tax Services

      Full-Time / Hybrid

      Mon-Fri 8 am-5 pm (with some flexibility)

      Responsibilities

      As a Supervisor of Payroll Tax Services, you will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of payroll tax compliance for our large, multi-state company. You will work closely with department leadership to ensure accurate and timely tax processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

      • Ensure high performance processing across multiple states and locations.
      • In conjunction with department leadership oversee payroll tax compliance, including federal, state and local filings, ensuring seamless, accurate and timely compiling and submission of all filings.
      • Develop and implement strategies to optimize payroll tax processes, streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
      • Stay abreast of changes in payroll tax laws and regulations, and ensure that all payroll tax procedures and practices are compliant with current regulations.
      • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to support tax compliance efforts.
      • Assist with the payroll tax implications of equity and stock related transactions.
      • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including HR, finance and legal to address payroll and payroll tax-related issues and provide expert guidance on tax matters.
      • In conjunction with department leadership oversee the reconciliation of payroll and payroll tax accounts and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
      • Regularly review systems and controls to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions, if needed.
      • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll tax-related inquiries from employees, managers and external stakeholders.
      • Prepare and present reports, analyses and recommendations to senior management on payroll tax performance, trends and compliance matters.
      • Lead special projects and initiatives related to payroll and payroll tax system enhancements, leverage technology to manage regulatory change, improve efficiency and automation.
      • Foster a culture of excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; CPA or CPP certification preferred.
      • Minimum of 4 years of experience in multi-state payroll tax management.
      • Extensive knowledge of payroll processing and payroll Federal/State/local tax laws, and regulatory compliance requirements with superior attention to detail.
      • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and develop a team of tax professionals.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of employees .
      • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
      • Experience with payroll software systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
      • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks with hard deadlines simultaneously.
