      Supervisor, Production - US - Lexington, SC

      The Blueprint (Role Profile)

      We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor, on 1st shift, at our flagship facility in Lexington, SC. The incumbent will be responsible for the management functions of a fast-paced high technology, semi-automated Lean based machining center comprised of CNC Lathes, milling centers, grinding machines, robots and Assembly operations. Plans, directs, or coordinates the shipping, receiving, distribution and storage of materials and products. Accountable for the efficient use of people and resources to achieve financial and operational goals for the department.

      The Production Supervisor will report to the Value Stream Manager. He or she will work with other key supervisors and leaders to ensure alignment on daily functions and key projects.

      The Build (Responsibilities)

      · Maintains day to day responsibilities of work scheduling, quality, and interfacing with other supervisors and managers as needed to meet the production schedule.

      · Develop and implement manufacturing methods, quality standards, and perform cost analysis to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.

      · Training and technical development of employees including performance reviews, frequent feedback and setting goals and objectives.

      · Identifies and directs implementation of improvement opportunities by securing relevant information, asking effective questions, and developing solutions.

      · Resolves problems relating to materials, operations, quality or other factors that may result in production delays.

      · Interacts with applicable engineering staff on piece part design, process development and improvement.

      · Enforce stringent safety protocols, ensuring all operations comply with health and safety regulations.

      · Conduct regular safety audits and spearhead safety training and certifications for team members.

      · Utilize visual management systems to maintain clear communication and immediate visibility of production statuses and issues.


      The Toolbox (Qualifications)

      · Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or related technical degrees and 5 years previous supervisory experience in a lean manufacturing environment.

      · Previous experience managing machinists working on multi-axis machines.

      · Experience working with automated production lines.

      · Background working in a fast-paced assembly environment.

      · Strong technical background in mechanical disciplines

      · Demonstrated ability to lead an organization toward its objectives

      · Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma experience is a plus

      · Strong interpersonal communications skills (oral & written).

      · Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Information Systems.

      · SAP experience preferred.

      · Experience with inventory management.
