What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and advance policy and advocacy priorities based on emerging practice issues in immigration law
- Supervise AILA’s case liaison assistance program and manage case inquiries
- Conduct legal and policy analysis, and draft advocacy materials related to immigration benefits
- Represent AILA in advocacy efforts with Congress and relevant government agencies
- Educate AILA members and the public on policy positions through various communication channels
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in immigration law practice or policy, focused on family-sponsored or employment-based immigration
- At least one (1) year of experience supervising professional staff
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Admission to practice law in any state and/or Washington, DC
- Proven track record of collaborating with colleagues in a remote environment
- Familiarity with social media platforms for professional communication
- Understanding of the legislative process and political strategic planning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
