      Supplier Quality Technician

      Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Supplier Quality Technician to join our Quality Engineering team in Salina, KS.

      This is an Hourly role that typically works Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

      Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

      • Travel outside of Kansas up to 5%.
      • Travel inside of Kansas (i.e. day trips to suppliers) 10%.
      • Escalate unresolved external quality issues as appropriate to facilitate resolution.
      • Maintain Warranty and Service problem tracking documents.
      • Effectively communicate, both verbally and written, the status of projects.
      • Develop and maintain strong relationship with suppliers focusing on the improvement of product quality.
      • Participate in monthly Product Support meetings.
      • Participate in vendor Quality Process Audits.
      • Recommends new Quality standards or improved methods and procedures.
      • Implements quality actions required in New Product Development Process.
      • Identify opportunity for internally designed Quality Check fixtures.
      • Assist in problem solving activities and resolution as it pertains to quality of current products.
      • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends on current products.
      • Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment.
      • Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.

      Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

      • High school diploma plus 5 or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing or Quality related positions.
      • Ability to work independently with a positive attitude. Self-starter.
      • Strong analytical, organizational, planning skills with knowledge in project management.
      • Experience in Quality processes within a manufacturing environment.
      • Working knowledge of precision measuring tools.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
