      We are excited to announce the new UF Health St. Johns Surgical Technologist Apprenticeship Program! Candidates selected for this highly competitive opportunity will enroll in our hospital-based training that includes classroom and practical clinical instruction designed to prepare you for a career as a Surgical Technologist with UF Health St. Johns upon completion. This is a full time, paid apprenticeship to include full UF Health St. Johns employment benefits. Completion of the online application is required and candidates selected for interview will need to present at least one reference from a current or past supervisor prior to the interview.

      Selected candidates will be assigned to one of two cohorts. The first cohort will commence in Summer of 2024 and a second cohort will start in the Fall of 2024.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Apprentice applicants must be able to meet all employment guidelines and requirements.       1. Age (Required)

      The minimum age qualification required for persons entering the Apprenticeship Program is: 18 years.

      1. Physical

      Applicants will be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the occupation, with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others.

      Applicants will provide:

      1. Education

      A high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) equivalency or other high school equivalency credential is required. Applicant must provide an official transcript(s) for high school and any post–high school education. Applicant must submit the GED certificate or other high school equivalency credential if applicable.

      1. English Language

      Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in order to comprehend instructions on the job and in related training classes, and to ensure personal and co-worker safety on the job.

      1. Must have proof of AHA Basic Life Support or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire.
