      As Sustainability & Ethics Specialist - Environment you will deliver an exciting programme activity focusing on food waste, nature and responsible manufacturing. You'll work with two of the UK's most loved retailers to minimise their environmental impact and protect and restore nature.

      You will ensure that good food is never wasted, that we protect and restore nature in our key sourcing areas, and that we are minimising the environmental impact of our supply chain factories and sites. You'll be at the forefront of setting science-based targets for nature.

      You'll support delivery of some of our key targets, including halving food waste from our operations and our supply chain by 2030, and forthcoming nature targets.

      Specifically, you will:

      • Lead select initiatives and projects which support the wider S&E strategy, with a focus on food waste and nature.

      • Ensure robust standards and approaches are in place to enable reduced environmental impact through supply chains (e.g. textile processing and agricultural water use).

      • Work with the Social Impact and Technical teams, branches, suppliers and other partners to identify opportunities to ensure food waste and surplus is put to best use.

      • Work with the agriculture and responsible sourcing teams to develop approaches and protocols to deliver on our ambitions for nature, including supporting the setting of science-based targets for nature.

      • Deliver reporting and assurance against food waste and other environmental targets.

      • Provide research for internal and external horizon scanning,strategy formulation and policy development. Be responsible for completing robust data collection and ensuring reporting mechanisms are in place.

      • Develop internal and external communications material as required, including presentations, briefing packs, website content, letters and meeting papers.

      • Deliver the organisation of stakeholder events ensuring they meet the standards expected of the Partnership.

      Essential skills you’ll need :

      • Degree level qualification or 3 years relevant experience.

      • Good IT and data management skills

      • Good written and verbal communicator

      • Excellent organisational skills

      • Strong interest in and passion for sustainability

      • Strong attention to detail

      • Experience in leading the delivery of successful strategic projects

      • Relevant industry experience in one or more relevant areas of Sustainability & Ethics - Environment / Biodiversity, Food Waste, Responsible Manufacturing.

      Desirable skills you may have;

      • Sustainability-related qualification

      • Knowledge of application of Sustainability & Ethics in a retail context
