      Job Summary

      We are looking for a Sustainability Manager who will be responsible for execution of sustainability programmes in France. Main focus is on developing collection and recycling programmes for post-consumer packages. This will be done by securing strong recycling infrastructure and capacity through identifying and developing recycling partners in this market, working in tandem with industry coalitions and the PRO to establish and expand effective collections network. You will be the key contact towards relevant stakeholders like government organizations, the PRO or industry associations, that will allow you to be updated on relevant evolutions and to secure a positive position of beverage cartons in the ongoing discussions. You will support a process to raise the value in the collection and recycling chain and therefore help enabling the expansion of beverage carton recycling across the region. During this process, you will also support our ‘polyal’ recycling partners to establish circular end solutions for the recycled materials.
      The position is based in Paris, France.
      You will travel regularly, mainly within France (20%).

      What you will do

      • Drive sustainability programs and large-sized, strategic projects, support development of short and long-term collection and recycling programmes
      • Achieve sustainability targets including collection and recycling, responsible for planning and execution of key deliverables including recycling investments, value chain activities, development of end markets for recycled materials and representation in industry associations
      • Drive circular economy activities and engagement with industry PROs and coalitions, waste management collectors and cooperatives; recycling businesses; NGOs etc. and support corporate affairs colleagues with regulators/policy-makers;
      • Drive recycling targets within the markets by working closely with value chain partners to secure and develop recycling capacities and collection networks
      • Maintain data and secure compliance with local collection/recycling regulation as needed. Provide data for reliable accounting and reporting of recycling rates
      • Support our key customers in driving their environmental agenda through implementation of programmes and partnerships agreed with them
      • Work closely with communications team to ensure effective circular economy communications strategy execution

      We believe you have

      • Min 5 years’ relevant experience in sustainability
      • Minimum education of master’s degree, preferable in environment/engineering, business management, sustainability/circular economy or related discipline
      • High French and English language skills
      • Strong drive to deliver results and continuously improve the way of working
      • Excellent skills in linking strategy to operations and in planning and organizing work
      • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude
      • You have an experience in business development and can translate complex issues into messages that are easy to understand for customers
