      Position Summary

      The Senior Vice President, Chief Stores Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing operational strategies to drive sales, improve margins, and enhance customer service across all stores. The SVP will work closely with VP, Store Operations, Regional, and District Managers to ensure consistent execution of operational standards and best practices and will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of company initiatives. The role requires strong business acumen and financial analysis skills, with a track record of driving results, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills. The SVP, Chief Stores Officer will be a key member of Big Lots' leadership team and will play a critical role in driving the growth and success of the company.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      Develop and implement operational strategies and initiatives to drive sales, improve margins, and enhance customer service across all stores.

      Build and maintain strong relationships with regional and district managers to ensure consistent execution of operational standards and best practices.

      Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs across all store operations functions.

      Monitor and analyze sales and financial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

      Leads and directs the initiatives to drive topline sales and profitability by improving Store Level execution through increased consistency and standardization of critical store processes.

      Directly accountable for the development and ongoing management of all annual store expense budgets, inclusive of the store labor budget.

      Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure seamless execution of company initiatives.

      Foster a culture of high performance and accountability and provide leadership and coaching to store operations teams.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.

      15+ years of experience in store operations, with a minimum of 5 years in a corporate level senior leadership role.

      Strong business acumen and financial analysis skills, with a track record of driving results.

      Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational excellence to continually improve customer service and profitability.

      Proven experience leading teams and fostering a culture of high performance.

      Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and motivate associates across all levels of the organization.
