      Overview

      LMI is seeking an experienced System Architect to support the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS). This role is responsible for designing, modernizing, and optimizing the enterprise architecture for RFMSS, ensuring alignment with Army training objectives, cybersecurity requirements, and cloud migration strategies. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and hands-on experience in software architecture, system integration, and DevSecOps practices.

      Responsibilities

      • Define and implement enterprise architecture strategies for the modernization and sustainment of RFMSS.
      • Develop technical roadmaps, system designs, and integration plans to ensure scalability, security, and performance.
      • Lead efforts in cloud migration, optimizing RFMSS for AWS or other DoD-approved cloud environments.
      • Implement microservices architectures and API integrations to enhance system interoperability.
      • Work closely with Army stakeholders, software development teams, and cybersecurity personnel to align architecture with mission requirements.
      • Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, RMF controls, and STIG requirements.
      • Establish and refine CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps workflows, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
      • Evaluate and implement best practices for data management, application security, and system resilience.
      • Support the Authority to Operate (ATO) process, ensuring secure deployment of RFMSS components.
      • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and documentation to support development teams and operational staff.

      Qualifications

      • 8+ years of experience in software architecture, enterprise system design, or DevSecOps engineering.
      • Expertise in cloud-native architectures and AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, IAM, etc.).
      • Experience designing and implementing microservices, containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes), and API gateways.
      • Proficiency in software development and automation using Python, Java, or C#.
      • Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
      • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF, STIGs, and FedRAMP.
      • Hands-on experience with database management and optimization (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, NoSQL).
      • Active Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

      Preferred:

      • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DoD 8570 cybersecurity certification (Security+, CISSP, etc.).
      • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and Service Mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
      • Previous experience working with Army training systems or range management software.
      • Knowledge of AI/ML integration for predictive analytics and automation.
