      Talent and Benefits Associate - Human Resources

      Permanent Full-Time

      Reporting to the Senior HR Consultant – Team Lead, the Talent and Benefits Associate will be accountable to provide administrative support to the Senior Human Resources Consultant for a specified client group including the full recruitment cycle, labour and employee relations and compensation and benefit functions. In addition, they will provide receptionist duties and clerical support for Human Resource Services by providing excellent customer service to all staff, physicians, volunteers and the general public. The incumbent will support various committees including preparation of agenda and minutes when required, and other miscellaneous documentation and play a key role in supporting initiatives that foster an inclusive and respectful workplace and accessible services.

      Contribute to safe, quality care by

      • Provides telephone, reception duties and deals with inquiries from hospital staff, external agencies and the general public.
      • Handles confidential information on a daily basis.
      • Process resumes and applications.
      • Prepares job postings for internal and external recruitment.
      • Coordinates and leads the recruitment process for front-line recruitment as well as being a key support for all other recruitment.
      • Responds to general correspondence and memos.
      • Maintain the comprehensive administrative filing system consisting of the employment and confidential personal files of all employees, as well as recruitment files.
      • Answers routine questions from staff and management regarding the status of their applications/vacancies.
      • Actively recruits for non-managerial vacancies and fills vacancies within a specific time to fill target.
      • Creates job postings and tracks vacancies via the Vacancy Tracking Sheet
      • Ensures all recruitment activities are handled in accordance with the Hospital's internal job competition process, including Collective Agreements and Hospital policies
      • Prepares hiring packages, offers of employment, and facilitates pre-placement appointments with Human Resources and Occupational Health Unit
      • Updates HRIS database, including address and name changes, as necessary.
      • Supports HR team in projects and initiatives.
      • Processes relevant employee benefit related communication.
      • Liaison with benefit carriers and effective resolution of queries.
      • Accurate data entry into Human Resources System.
      • Answers routine compensation and benefit related queries.
      • Responds to employee and external third party requests for letters.

      What must you have?

      • Completion of a relevant university/college program.
      • Actively working towards completion of Certification in Human Resources.

      • Working knowledge of recruitment and selection process/techniques.
      • Demonstrated ability to take initiative; strong problem solving, organization, and analytical skills.
      • Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to maintain effectiveness during change.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
      • Keen attention to detail.
      • Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, patience and confidentiality.
      • Demonstrated ability to take initiative; strong problem solving and organization skills.
      • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment to successfully meet deadlines.
      • Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
      • Proven attendance record.
      • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
      • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
      • Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others.

      Preferably, your profile also includes:

      • Minimum one year working experience in Human Resources in areas of recruitment, benefits, compensation
      • Health care experience
      • Current knowledge of Ontario Employment Legislation (ESA), WSIB, Human Rights Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety mandatory. Experience working with Collective Agreements
      • Working knowledge of HRIS
