Rite of Passage Team is hiring for Teacher Assistant / Test Coordinator at Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah ✨Lava Heights Academy is a residential treatment program that provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Falcon Ridge Ranch as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future.Pay: $18.00 per hour.Perks & Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and company paid Life Insurance within 90 days, and 401k match of up to 6% after 1 year of employment, Paid Time Off that can be used as soon as it accrues and more! ROP-benefits-and-perks-2What you will do: This is a full-time teaching position at our residential school program working with youth at risk. The position is teaching all subjects to grades 7-12 in a multi age classroom environment. Teaching experience required. Small classroom sizes (approx 10 students per class) and supportive, collaborative, and fun team of educators to work with. You will use various methodologies and research related to learning, effective classroom management techniques and behavioral management styles, effective communication techniques that enable positive and productive collaboration with site staff and technology and how it can be used as an educational tool. Coordinate all student testing and assessments to include planning, execution and record keeping.To be considered you should: ~ Be at least 21 years of age ~ High school diploma or equivalent required ~ If required to operate a company vehicle during the course of employment, must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver ~ Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years ~ Have a minimum of 1 year working in educational classrooms in a variety of core subjects OR possess a current and valid State teaching credential in English, Social Studies and/or Special Education ~ Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test ~ Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.Schedule: Monday to Friday ~ 8:00 am to 5:00 pmApply today and Make a Difference in the Lives of Youth!After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults.
