- In this role, you will leverage your project management experience to provide technical guidance and project leadership to project team members through all phases of the systems life cycle from user requirements through implementation to support and maintenance.
- You will oversee a team responsible for the effective management the technical direction and evolution of the LCBO’s Durham Warehouse IT capabilities, including the development and support of WCS (the C-systems).
- Additionally, you will liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure that new technology requests are effectively planned and appropriately documented to support business needs and priorities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical field.
- Strong expertise with real-time Control Systems, FORTRAN, C, C++, XML, SQL, Oracle, SCADA, Assembly and PLC integrations.
- Expertise or exposure to OpenVMS platform will be considered as an asset.
- Strong expertise in decomposing problems, planning, and testing, as well as determining the effectiveness of the solution (comprehensiveness, efficiency, and maintainability)
- 3+ years with progressively responsible experience providing staff supervision
- Expert knowledge of all applications supporting the business domain, including all data flows and business processes
- Expert technical understanding of a warehouse functionality.
- Working knowledge of SDLC methodology, Microsoft Office applications, and Web Browser technologies.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills and a committed customer focused team player.
- Well-developed logical, analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, organization and project management skills, and strong Business Client Relationship skills.
- Expert knowledge in determining how well the problem was solved, and how efficient and maintainable the solution is with least impact to the 24*5 production environment.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with external vendors.
- 10+ years of experience designing and developing complex applications
- Expert in software design and development principles
