What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Set technical direction and shape engineering culture while mentoring and coaching team members
- Manage a lean team of machine learning engineers and data scientists to ensure high-quality execution
- Develop algorithms and Machine Learning systems to connect users across the marketplace
- Collaborate with product managers to drive new user experiences through Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing
- Build experiments that inform key product decisions and provide insights
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent technical experience
- 7+ years of industry experience in Machine Learning
- Experience as a Technical Lead or Manager
- Proven track record in identifying problems and driving projects to completion
- Strong communication skills to present findings to diverse audiences
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- End-to-end experience building web-scale AI systems and feature stores
- Background in recommendations, optimization, natural language processing (NLP), or deep learning
- Experience with cloud services such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure
- Ability to work directly with cross-functional teams, including product management and engineering
- Strong storytelling skills with data to an out-of-domain audience
