What is the focus of this role

The focus of a Technical Business Analyst role is to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions within an organization. This role typically involves the following key responsibilities:

Requirements Gathering: They would work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical specifications. You will collect and document detailed requirements, ensuring that they are clear, complete, and aligned with the organization's goals.

Analysis: You would analyse existing business processes and systems to identify areas where technology can be leveraged to improve efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness. You may be involved conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.

System Design: Technical business analysts often play a crucial role in designing systems and solutions to meet business requirements. You would be creating system architecture, data models, and functional specifications.

Communication: Effective communication is a vital part of the role. Business analysts need to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa. You would act as intermediaries, ensuring that both sides understand each other.

Documentation: You would create and maintain documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and system documentation. This is essential for onboarding, training, and future reference.

Quality Assurance: Technical business analysts are often involved in quality assurance and testing processes. You would ensure that the developed systems meet the specified requirements and are free of defects.

Project Management: You would be involved in project management activities, such as project planning, tracking progress, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Vendor Management: In cases where external software or services are being utilized, technical business analysts may evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors.

Continuous Improvement: They continually assess the performance of systems and processes and identify opportunities for improvement. This may involve suggesting updates, enhancements, or entirely new solutions.

Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with technology projects is also part of the role. This involves anticipating potential issues and developing contingency plans.

Change Management: They help with the adoption of new systems within the organization, including training and support for end-users.

The specific focus of a Technical Business Analyst may vary depending on the organization, its industry, and the particular project or initiative they are working on.
