About the Institutional Clients Group (ICG):

Citi's mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress. Citi's Institutional Clients Group (ICG) is comprised of diverse, talented professionals globally located in more than 100 countries and jurisdictions and territories, collectively representing an unparalleled international network of financial skills and capabilities serving targeted clients.

Our clients include top corporations, financial institutions and governments in countries and jurisdictions around the world and our mission is to help them achieve their goals. We do so by providing strategic, financing, and operational insights and executing tailored product/service solutions, both across our borders and domestically.

      About the role:

We’re looking for a talented Technical Writer to join the ICG API Product team. We’re looking for a dynamic and collaborative Technical Writer to create and maintain API documentation and guides for consumption by Citi’s clients, partners and vendors. We’re looking for someone who wants to learn about banking at Citi’s uniquely global scale, and who can work across the various businesses to deliver clear, engaging developer content.

You would join the recently formed ICG Digital team, which is responsible for setting and executing the overall strategy and vision for Citi’s digital presence across its institutional businesses and client base. Our mission is to transform the digital product offerings and experiences – including APIs, platform partnerships, and UI/UX.

The API Product team is a new group within ICG Digital focused on:

      • Collaboration between Technology and Product partners to provide clients’ developers a unified, end-to-end set of capabilities and experiences across the ICG
      • Developing and executing the strategy and roadmap for the external facing API program
      • Support internal and external benchmarking and competitive intelligence activity
      • Setting and enforcing API standards and a governance process within the ICG

      You will:

      • Document APIs, products and features, as well as standards and guidelines for engineers building with Citi’s APIs
      • Work with product teams to turn draft content into well-organized, easy-to-read documentation
      • Collaborate with our Content Strategy Lead and Engineering and Architecture Practice group to maintain content quality and consistency
      • Provide subject matter expertise for CMS tool improvements

      You should have:

      • Proficiency writing software documentation, including API guides, tutorials, and quick-start guides
      • The ability to clearly explain technical concepts
      • Empathy for users
      • Curiosity
      • Proficiency in HTML, Markdown and documentation-as-code
      • Basic comfort with Git
      • Experience identifying gaps and types of content to be written
      • Experience with API products or technical products or platforms
      • Delivered documentation to market by working across business, engineering, and other stakeholders
      • A strong and rationalized sense of priorities, and the ability to translate conflicting priorities and requirements into an actionable plan
      • Launched and continuously improved documentation by focusing on both short-term and long-term goals
      • Comfort working within an Agile framework
      • High levels of accountability and ownership

      Nice to have:

      • Experience in banking or finance
