WHAT TO EXPECT

The role is to support our engineering operations associated to certification approval and development work (calibration led). We have multiple roles available which cover a range of activities from mechanical installations of Unit-Under-Test (UUT’s), technical operations of automation, computer and robot-based systems within the engineering and testing domain and emissions measurement.

Flexible shift patterns apply to this role – Monday to Friday alternating between 6am – 2pm and 2pm to 10pm plus you may be required to work nights ( Mon - Thu ) (overtime opportunities exist for weekend work too).

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

• Installation of vehicles in test facility and installation of instrumentation on said vehicle
• Driving set sequence for data collection
• Use computer base control systems to set up and control the test sequencing, collection of exhaust gases for analysis and the generation of test reports along with first line analysis and interpretation of test results
• First line fault identification on the vehicle and facility
• Application of Health and Safety within the facility (as working on high voltage electrical systems / an understanding of the COSHH principals)

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• You'll be a qualified NVQ level Technician with experience of handling installaton of test equipment and 1st tier fault finding
• You'll probably be coming from a mechanical, technical or science led background (you won't have to necessarily have a background in the automotive industry as we also consider telecommunication or ex-forces for example)
• You'll need to be comfortable with both the practical and technological elements of the role
