What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide technical assistance and policy analysis related to housing issues
- Implement and enforce state housing laws and policies, including SB 9 and the Housing Accountability Act
- Engage collaboratively with various external stakeholders
- Conduct research and develop recommendations to address California's housing needs
- Prepare and implement guiding housing policy documents for the state

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Experience with local land use planning, affordable housing development, or housing policy
- Knowledge of state housing laws and housing element law
- Familiarity with the entitlement and permitting phases of local government housing project review
- Strong analytical and communication skills for presenting complex topics to diverse audiences
- Ability to work in a team environment and engage with multiple stakeholders

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience as a municipal planner, consultant, developer, or representative in housing projects
- Background in community development, planning, fair housing, or homelessness issues
- Familiarity with public engagement processes and California State government practices
