BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for creating a positive experience and image of GECU through greeting members, evaluating and responding to members’ requests, recommending products and services to create member loyalty, rendering friendly service, and performing member transactions in an efficient manner.TYPICAL DUTIES
Completes all member service representative transactions utilizing GECU service standards consistently in a branch environment or through our interactive teller machines (ITMs); to include posting withdrawals, loan payments, deposits, line of credit advances, etc. Runs partial bank deposits, balance drawer and ITMs at the end of shift.Creates memorable member experience through exceptional member interactions which include enthusiastic greetings and closing phrases.
Creates opportunities to cross sell all credit union products and services to assist members in determining their financial needs and to ensure individual and credit union goals are consistently met.
Good understanding of check negotiation and placement of check holds in order to mitigate check fraud losses.
Balance cash box assignment at the end of the day.
Educates members in the use of our remote services to include and not limited to real time taking ATMs, ITMs, Mobile and the convenience our neighborhood branches bring to our community.
Makes judgment decisions regarding tickler lockouts, warning information, altered items, and stale-dated checks, after sufficient experience is gained.
Ensures that members’ accounts are handled accurately.
Acquires knowledge of audit items/questions to include security procedures in order to comply with Credit Union security and safety procedures. This includes participating in branch audit periodically.
Exercises professionalism and good judgment with members and coworkers.
Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).
Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with general operation of the credit union.
Qualifications
CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Excellent member service skills. Must be outgoing and quick to respond to meet members' needs within credit union policies and the ability to deal with upset members with even temperament using tact and diplomacy.Ability to work with multiple types of electronic equipment, including video monitoring systems, telephone systems and queuing systems.
Ability to work with minimal to no supervision in Teller Center, including making decisions outside of written policy.
Acquire extensive knowledge of credit union policies, products and services, with emphasis on special promotions and new services. Ability to answer member questions and make decisions outside of guidelines.
Awareness of security procedures when dealing with cash, keys and other areas of GECU
Basic clerical skills such as typing, 10-key calculator, personal computer and software applications
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and good organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure.
High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months similar or related experience. Cash handling experience preferred.
WFH Minimum Requirements:
• 500 MBPS internet requirement and ability to directly connect to the modem/router
• Private work areaFull Time Teller Center Representatives must be available for work at least 35 hours Monday to Saturday each week. Rotating schedules will be assigned between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
Requires sitting and standing the majority of the day, lifting up to 20 pounds, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling and reaching above the shoulder level occasionally.
