Can you help us provide good quality primary care in a clinical role, in a stunning Cotswolds location? This could be the opportunity you have been looking for.

A temporary position, working Thursdays and Fridays, 9am to 6pm, in the role of Advanced Clinical Practitioner/Paramedic has become available at Hilary Cottage Surgery. If you want to help people to get the primary care they need, and make a difference in general practice, come and join us at Hilary Cottage Surgery in Fairford as a member of our Clinical Team.

Being a clinical team member at Hilary Cottage is interesting, fulfilling and challenging, all at the same time. Mostly, it is rewarding - both when you can immediately provide a solution, and when you can direct someone to the next stage in their care and support their needs.

Your 6 month role with us as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner or Primary Care Paramedic covers a wide scope, and ultimately allows autonomy in the role, with clinical support from our Practice Team when it is required.

Can you offer first line help and assistance to our patients who are seeking care, and put a friendly, welcoming face to our practice?

If you can help our patients, work as part of a team, and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, this could be the challenging and exciting opportunity you have been looking for.

We need you on a Thursday and Friday, 9am to 6pm / 5:30pm.

In addition to the Clinical Practice responsibilities already described, you will:

• demonstrate courageous and critical thinking and be a caring, compassionate and committed experienced practitioner (nurse or paramedic) who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.
• demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice.
• communicate and work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures
• be an excellent communicator, demonstrating your verbal, written and listening skills with patients and your colleagues
• maintain accurate patient records at all times
• utilise appropriate available technology so support efficiency and effectiveness in your role

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• You will be an Advanced Practitioner: NMC Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
• You will have good, patient facing and communication skills.

Desirable

• You will be a Prescriber.
• Ideally you will have good IT skills, and/or be prepared to further those skills to support efficiency in your practice.
• You will have good, demonstrable Maths and English skills.

Experience

Essential

• You will have a masters degree, or have evidence of study at masters level combined with experience of advanced practice.
