What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct client intake and screening for program eligibility, gathering necessary evidence for case analysis
- Provide advice and counsel under the supervision of an attorney
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and government agencies
- Support attorneys with case administration, including drafting correspondence and court documents
- Assist with outreach and education efforts, including presentations and legal clinics

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Paralegal certificate/degree from an ABA-approved institution OR bachelor's degree with at least 1 year of law-related experience under a California bar member
- Thorough knowledge of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures
- Clearly demonstrated competency with MS Office and case management systems
- Exceptionally organized, self-motivated, and goal-oriented
- Commitment to Bet Tzedek's mission of providing free legal services to those in need

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- California Notary Certificate
- Experience in state court systems and e-filing
- At least 2 years of experience in a law firm, nonprofit, or in-house law office
- Bilingual and biliterate in both English and Spanish
- Experience with legal databases such as Lexis/Nexis or Westlaw
