- 1 year of experience in terminal operations required
- Safety training and hazard training required
- Spill response training for pipeline and rack area imperative
- Fire training preferred
- This position will require an individual to hold a valid drivers license
- This position will require an individual to hold a TWIC card
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy
- Expected to exercise good judgment
- Initiative and organizational abilities required for meeting deadlines and establishing priorities
- Expected to maintain good working relationships with all Company personnel, customers and contract personnel
- Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet appropriate deadlines

Job Description:
Performs duties as outlined by the Terminal Manager related to the receipt and shipment of petroleum products via pipeline, marine, and truck. Has maintenance and accounting responsibilities in accordance with established company and governmental regulations. Assists with operations, maintenance, safety and environmental matters in the temporary absence of the Terminal Manager.
Rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Answers and responds to after-hour calls (24 hours per day / 7 days per
week).
• Assumes responsibility for filter changes and all valve alignments (manifolds
and tanks) inside the terminal property to assure the proper handling, storage
and integrity of products.
• Uses the Terminal Automation System to prepare daily inventory reports,
terminal balance report and rack activity report.
• Forwards daily inventory and accounting reports to the appropriate
customers.
• Makes sure that the customers receive information needed regarding their
throughput and inventory.
• Samples and analyzes product as instructed by the Terminal Manager.
• Keeps loading rack equipment (mechanical and electrical) clean and in good
working order at all times.
• Interacts with customers and contractors to make sure they follow all
company and safety regulations.
• Assumes responsibility to train new customers and make sure they are
familiar with our automation, loading equipment and emergency features.
• Conducts safety watches with outside contractors as advised by the Terminal
Manager.
• Is a self-starter and willing to adapt to changing conditions.
• Ensures all environmental and safety equipment is working properly.
• Keeps overall appearance of terminal up and grass mowed and edged.
• Meets with the person-in-charge of the vessel for a pre-transfer conference to
determine the NuStar’s expectations, as well as, what is required and expected
from the person-in-charge of the vessel to accomplish the transfer in a safe
and uninterrupted manner
• Communicates with facility personnel via radio and/or telephone to advise the
status of transfer and report any problems that may occur
• Familiar with the facility piping layout to ensure that the proper product and
pipeline configuration are utilized in the transfer
• Wears all protective clothing and equipment, including respirator and fresh air
equipment that may be required to transfer the product in a manner that
ensures maximum personal safety.
• Maintains detailed logs to ensure all events are recorded in chronological
order
• Operates crane, hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical equipment to connect /
disconnect the dock arm / hose to the vessel
• Operates manual and/or motor operated valves to control flow of product
being transferred
• Gauges and procures sample of product from vessels or tanks as required by
the facility
• Maintains open communication with person-in-charge of the vessel to ensure
that the transfer is accomplished in a safe and efficient manner, as planned in
the pre-transfer conference
• Interfaces with United States Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security
(DHS), and/or Port Corpus Christi Security, , (all in the case of transfers
involving ships), as may be required to clear the vessel for the transfer
• Tests, inspects and troubleshoots the Marine Vapor Combustion Unit when
required
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Reduce potential risk to
public safety and environment and minimize company liability.
• Noncompliance of government regulations can result in multi-million dollar
fines and possible criminal penalties.
• Improve operations efficiency and financial profitability through well
maintained facilities.Requirements:
