Job Description

- With a keen eye for detail, you will provide test coverage & test scenarios of our new products and new releases of legacy products. Ultimately you will ensure that only high-quality products reach the end user.
- Collaborate with test team member and engineering management to develop & improve testing procedures & toolsets
- Report test status and test results
- Perform detailed test programs.
- Generate defect reports that allow the reproduction of issues / bugs.
- Support testing activities carried out in production or in the field
- Assist with change control of R&D and software documentation
- Collaborate with engineers performing testing and commissioning.
- Actively remove blockers for test execution, escalating where appropriate
- Bachelors Degree or higher in a related discipline or demonstrated significant experience in testing
- Ability to structure complex information in a simple and understandable manner, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience in testing cyber-security in systems
- Experience in applying agile methods and testing in continuous integration environments
- Excellent clear written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with issue tracking and management system such as JIRA
- Knowledge/Experience of the Xray JIRA plug in
- Experience of TestStack.White or similar test frameworks
- Writing test scenarios with Gherkin or similar
- A curiosity for our products and the marine environment
- Resourcefulness in gathering all the information required to perform your role.
- Knowledge of continuous testing frameworks such as Jenkins.
- Attention to detail and persistence to explore all functions and features when testing a product.
- Ability to identify scenarios possibly missed by the development team.
- Ability to convey all the essential details when raising a fault report.
- Willingness to learn how the product works and to use this knowledge in conducting testing.
- Willingness to work with other test engineers when testing a large or significant release or by yourself when required.
- Curiosity to research other testing environments and toolsets and evaluate for adoption by Wartsila Guidance Marine.

What you will be doing
We are looking for a system test engineer to join our team of test engineers. The test team is part of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers who work in a supportive
Environment. You will use your experience to ensure new products and new releases of existing products reach the end user with the renowned high quality of Wartsila Guidance Marine products.
On the engineering road map, we have a very exciting future planned with ground breaking new radar products together with major updates to existing products ensuring Wartsila Guidance Marine maintains its position as the leader in the field of Dynamic Positioning sensors. We also have planned upgrades to our machine vision & AI camera system, which will require extensive testing prior to being released.
