      Position Summary: The Title Curative Specialist is responsible for the final title review and resolving complex title issues by determining the best course of action to cure a variety of title defects to achieve a clear and marketable title.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
      • Maintain consistent communication with all parties involved in the curative effort, including the client; internal and external counsel; title companies; and closing attorneys
      • Research and resolve outstanding liens, judgments, taxes, and other title issues
      • Instruct and/or provide authorization to attorneys and closing offices to prepare necessary documents
      • Coordinate with clients for obtaining necessary information to resolve title curative matters
      • Communicate and/or escalate title issues to management
      • Coordinate, maintain, and update all necessary tasks and responsibilities associated with the closing process.
      • Timely completion of all required work functions including task queue, updating, follow-up, etc.
      • Proactively anticipate curative requirements and potential title issues.
      • A detailed review of all documents associated with the curative process.
      • Generate a curative checklist for an overview of progress and completion of all tasks associated with the curative effort on all outstanding files.
      • Demonstrated ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines.
      • Input, update and keep concise notes in the company technology platform.
      • Completion of all required reports and/or specifically assigned functions in an efficient and timely manner.
      • Strong knowledge of state-by-state curative processes/title issues and ability to determine their impact on the closing process.
      • Strong knowledge of the entire real estate closing process and ability to implement best practices to effect resolution.
      • Ability to make complex and time-sensitive decisions within company guidelines.
      • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels of associates and management, as well as with the public and outside vendors and investors
      • Additional duties as assigned.

      • Basic familiarity with nationwide property law and knowledge of terminology and other technical aspects relating to the chain of title to the property in various states.
      • Experience in working with large volume financial institutions on new tile orders for Single Family Residence and Rental, Origination, and Default market segments
      • Proven results in managing client expectations, communication, reporting, and setting team goals
      • Reports directly to the manager of title and works in a team environment incented to win
      • 3 - 5 years of title search, abstracting, examination, and title review required
      • Highly motivated
      • Strong leadership skills with the ability and experience to manage people
      • Ability to work well under pressure, handle competing priorities and meet deadlines
      • A high level of confidentiality to protect privacy rights
      • Effectiveness as a team player
      • Ability to easily prioritize job duties according to the needs of the company

      Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) or higher in the business-related field from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred. Seven to ten years of related experience and/or training are required. At least five years of experience in a Vice President or Manager role is required.

      Supervisory Responsibilities: Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of their department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, performance review and management, recognition, and counseling employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

      Travel: Some travel may be required.
