Job Description
- Req#: 4483593
- Patrol designated areas of the city and respond to and investigate complaints related to tour services.
- Issues citations and subpoenas to recorders' court as required; takes photos and video of violations for evidence.
- Establishes, updates, and maintains case files; testifies in court.
- Assists with conducting tourism surveys.
- Contacts customers by telephone, email, mail, and in person regarding citations and other issues; answers inquiries from customers, resolves citizens’ complaints, and problems within legal guidelines of the department.
- Enforce regulatory codes and ordinances as mandated.
- Provides assistance in the development, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of public health preparedness.
- Coordinates the towing of vehicles.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Provides information to customers regarding policies and processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of city and department policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of related City of Savannah tour services codes and ordinances.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of code enforcement.
- Decision-making skill.
- Skill in compiling information and preparing reports.
- Skill in operating such office equipment as a computer, calculator, copier, and facsimile machine. Must be proficient in typing and have strong computer skills.
- Skills in establishing priorities and organizing schedules and operating tasks.
- Skill in interpersonal relations.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
The purpose of a Tourism Enforcement Investigator is to ensure compliance with tourism-related ordinances, regulations, and policies. Their role involves conducting investigations to address potential violations within the tourism industry. This may include monitoring tour services, ensuring adherence to established rules, and resolving any issues related to non-compliance. The Tourism Enforcement Investigator plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the tourism industry, promoting responsible practices, and addressing concerns to enhance the overall experience for both visitors and the local community.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, as well as the ability to operate a Smartphone, is required for this role.
Various Schedules Available: Day Shift: Flexible
Night Shift: 4 pm - 1 am and 5 pm - 2 am
Night positions may receive 5%-10% additional compensation depending on their shift hours.
Additional Requirements
Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post-offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
The position requires working during weekdays and weekends, with occasional commitments related to events and office responsibilities.About the company
