1-3 Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed at least one chemistry lab course. Previous research lab experience is preferred, but not required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
We are looking for students who have consistent schedules, can work in a team, and are diligent in their work. Part of the lab’s mission is to train young scientists. Preference will be given to applicants with interests in fields such as chemistry, biology, ecology, agriculture, or environmental sciences.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Students will be conducting chemical assays to quantify biochemical compounds such as phenolics and non-structural carbohydrates in plant leaves. Training will be provided.
Physical Demands:
Lab work will involve the use of chemical reagents (solvents and strong acid). Adequate training for handling these materials will be provided.
