      Railroad Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a motivated and qualified individual with excellent communication skills to join our team in Edison, NJ as a Track Construction Superintendent .

      Position Summary:

      • Working with the project team, the Track Construction Superintendent will oversee and manage all field duties of construction projects, including coordinating craft workers, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.

      Responsibilities include:

      • Monitor project safety guidelines, and enforce core value of SAFETY.
      • Perform in-depth review of all contract documents to become familiar with all details, notes, and requirements.
      • Develop means and methods, schedules, and resource requirements for completion of construction projects.
      • Supervise the minute-by-minute activities of craft workers to ensure all trade contractors are conforming to project specifications and requirements, including during track outages.
      • Manage and adhere to established budgetary guidelines for project, and ensure cost control measures are implemented.
      • Monitor quality standards and ensure all quality assurance is on par with project requirements and company expectations.
      • Manage project schedules and plan work in coordination with client, general contractor, subcontractors, material deliveries, equipment needs, and craft labor availability.
      • Provide technical assistance regarding construction methodology, sequencing, and efficiency.
      • Provide guidance in resolving technical construction issues.
      • Act as liaison between project team, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and craft labor.
      • Assist in preparation of internal and external reports and updates.

      Required Skills and Qualification:

      • A minimum of 5 years construction supervisory experience, including a thorough knowledge of track construction industry practices, methods, processes, and railroad standards, and their impacts on project activities.
      • Ability to lead a team of craft workers in daily activities, including physical labor, movement and use of equipment, and installation of materials.
      • Ability to read, interpret, and comprehend construction drawings and specifications.
      • Exhibits strong management skills and has the ability to motivate coworkers.
      • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
      • Strong client relations, influencing skills, and organizational skills.
      • Computer proficient with preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

      Physical Requirement and Working Conditions:

      • Frequently works outdoors at construction sites and occasionally works indoors.
      • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches while negotiating work areas under construction.
      • Sits, reads, writes, and uses a keyboard.
      • May be exposed to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather.
      • May be exposed to loud noise.
      • May be required to work nights, weekends, and be on-call.
      • May be required to travel to jobsites located out-of-state for short durations.
