As we look to build future resilience and a talent pipeline within the @one alliance, we are following up on our successful first Construction Operative Training School to ensure we can continue to deliver to our circa 7 million customers across the region for years to come.

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a number of individuals to attend our Construction Operative Training School in Bury St Edmunds starting in October on a 9-week programme.

Who are we?

Here within the Anglian Water @one Alliance we are a totally collaborative organisation. We are now working to deliver a £1.2bn programme of work until 2025 with even more work and investment planned after this. What will you be doing in our Training School?

Within our Training School, you’ll gain an understanding of who we, how we work and why we do what we do. This opportunity is not only a chance for us to understand if you are right for us, but also for you to assess if we are the right organisation for your next career step.

In addition, whilst on the 9-week programme you can expect:

• To learn and understand what our values and behaviours are

• Begin to gain an understanding of our construction operations and how you can fit in

• Understand and begin to develop the key skills required on our sites

• Understand our customer service strategy and why it is so important

• Appreciate the importance of Health & Safety in all what we do

How does the Training School work?

Based from our site in Bury St Edmunds, our Training School is a great opportunity for those looking for their next career step. During this training school, you’ll be paid for your time. If you are currently claiming Job Seekers Allowance, please contact your Job Centre Advisor to ensure your benefits are not impacted should you not be successful and need to claim following this 9-week programme.

If successful, you’ll be employed by one of our seven alliance partners on a permanent contract.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours….

We don’t expect individuals to have all of the skills and experience from day one for these roles. We are looking for enthusiastic, willing and customer driven individuals who have a genuine passion and interest in pursuing a career within Construction. The rest…we will teach you!
