What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct mandatory mine safety and health training classes for the mining community and contractor employees throughout Arizona
- Maintain and service assigned agency vehicle, including keeping accurate mileage and service records
- Assist in the development of department programs, seminars, and conferences related to mining safety
- Prepare and update class materials, lesson plans, and training manuals
- Maintain accurate records of training conducted, including certifications and evaluations
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in education, business administration, public administration, social or behavioral sciences, or related field, along with one year of training experience
- Certification as a Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) approved instructor with two years of mining experience
- Knowledge of training strategies, principles of employee training, and the Mining Code of the State of Arizona
- Excellent communication, motivational, and public speaking skills
- Ability to understand and interpret complex state and federal regulations related to training requirements
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in mining, teaching knowledge, and experience
- MSHA Certified Blue Card Instructor
- Basic to high-level knowledge of Federal CFR Standards and Arizona Mining Codes
- Basic knowledge of First Aid, CPR, and Bloodborne Pathogens subject matter
