What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a team lead and subject-matter expert, coordinating workflow and mentoring team members
- Perform large, complex audits and refund reviews for various taxing jurisdictions
- Conduct occasional field audits, which may involve in-state and out-of-state travel
- Prepare working papers and recommendations for final audit memorandums
- Analyze tax liabilities involving transaction privilege, excise, and use taxes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Any combination of education and experience that meets the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA) requirements, including a relevant degree
- Minimum of three (3) years of tax auditing experience
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License
- Advanced knowledge of transaction privilege and use tax laws, policies, and procedures
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and tax reporting/accounting systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a closely related field
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or other relevant certifications
- Experience with Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or LEAN
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Previous experience in a team lead role
