What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts and purchasing instruments with private vendors and state agencies
- Assist internal stakeholders with contract negotiations and the issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Develop contract templates and manage the contract repository
- Collaborate with internal business units on contract-related matters
- Provide legal counsel on taxpayer information disclosure and public records law compliance

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Possession of a law degree from an accredited institution
- Must reside within the State of Iowa to qualify for this position
- Relevant work experience (including internships) researching law, policies, and drafting legal documents
- Knowledge of contracts or data security law
- Demonstrated writing ability, such as experience with journals, law reviews, or judicial clerkships
