JOB SUMMARY

The Genesee Brewing Company is seeking to hire a transport driver to run loads from the brewery located on St. Paul Street to various warehouse locations in the Rochester area. Trailer movement is to be done in an allotted period of time in a safe manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, state, and federal regulations.

STATUS: Full Time

SHIFT: Afternoons & Overnights / Overtime and Weekends required

JOB TYPE: Union

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for safely moving trailers on direction between multiple warehouses
• Capable of maneuvering trailers safely in close quarters
• Accurately “hook and drop” approximately 20-30 times in an eight or ten hour shift
• Communicate with Warehouse staff, including supervisors, coordinators, fork lift drivers
• Work in unison with yard transport staff to create an efficient process in accordance with management direction
• Ability to adapt to fast pace environment
• Daily safety and maintenance check of equipment and reporting of any issues found
• Ability to function in small group and provide coverage for other drivers
• Obey all traffic laws and drive with caution at all times
• Subject to all DOT regulations including random drug testing
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs,) properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and follow all safety and company policies at all times
• Perform other various job duties as needed
• Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment

SKILLS

• Ability to think ahead and anticipate the needs of the warehouse – excellent multi-tasking and troubleshooting
• Ability to effectively communicate in English (verbal and written)
• Ability to work as a team with multiple members of Warehouse and Transport staff

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Clean Class A Driver’s License and driving record required
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year yard driving experience
• Ability to safely maneuver tractor trailers in very busy environment to and from our outside warehouse location(s) and back up to docks in tight quarters

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

• Must be able to frequently walk and climb stairs
• Must be able to drive in all weather conditions
• Must be able to get in and out of the truck approximately 20-30 times a day
• Must be able to work in extreme fluctuations of temperature in working environment – hot, muggy, cold, snowy, and wet

The referenced pay range represents pay rates for this job, as set forth in the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Individual pay will be set in accordance with terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
