Job Title: Construction Laborer
Job Description
Start in Omaha, NE for 2-4 weeks of training and then will be sent to Louisiana in October or November. Earn $830 per diem per week. Hand install silt fences and wattles to prevent erosion. Posts will be driven in by hand with a pneumatic post driver. Fence will be zip-tied to steel t-posts. The trench for the fence is made with a silt fence plow, the fabric rolls out as the plow moves forward and puts the fence in the trench. Laborers ensure the fence stays in the ground and tamp and backfill. Sediment will flow to the fences and wattles, and laborers will be required to clean out the fences with shovels. Heavy equipment operators will assist with larger removal using skid steers and excavators if necessary. Laborers will not be operating any equipment. Expect to work 6am-6pm M-F and some Saturdays. Some days can be more like a 10-hour shift but be prepared to get to work a little before 6am every day until the sun starts rising later in the morning.
