Job description
Job responsibilities
The Trust has two tertiary referral centres for complex colorectal cancer and head and neck cancers. We work collaboratively with Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust as a specialist surgical and oncology centre and with Mount Vernon Cancer Centre. All radiotherapy takes place at these centres.
We have a very busy chemotherapy unit at Northwick Park hospital for Haematological and solid tumours, where there are plans to expand to deliver capacity for the rising demand and to repatriate patients to provide treatment closer-to-home. There are also plans within the Trust and as part of Shaping a Healthier Future to establish a chemotherapy unit at Ealing Hospital.
The Trust has a busy level 3 Haemato-oncology service which is well recognised across London for its excellent clinical outcomes and approach to Clinical Research and Education, embedded in clinical practice. We also provide a level 1 POSCU service.
As an NIHR-badged Haemato-oncology Research Unit, a large proportion of patients are partaking in Clinical Trials, with a positive approach to research across all disciplines involved (Haematology, Colorectal, breast, urology, ENT). We are supported by a highly commended and innovative pharmacy team and have a large chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition manufacturing units on site at NPH.
Cancer services across all cancer specialties are fortunate to have a very strong cancer clinical nurse specialist (CNS) workforce, which is supported by Macmillan.
Pleas see the attached job description for further details and (appendix B) for the job plan weekly provisional programmed activities.

About the company
National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
