      Basic Qualifications

      Job Description

      Sets up manual tube bending machines, following standardized procedure as outlined on shop orders and "bend data" charts.

      Operate manual tube bending machines. Performs production work such as simple or light bending operations on small tubing with multiple bends and compound angles in several geometric planes. Does hand tube bending using radius blocks and hand benders. Checks finished parts to master templates. Performs other typical operations such as flaring, beading, burring, manual and or semi-automatic application of identification tapes and the use of hand or power equipment.

      Removes dents from tubing. Attaches tubing to fittings in pressure testing machines to test tubing for defects and leaks using air, hydraulic oil or water. Performs hand burring and buffing, marking with stencil, color coding, capping, bonding, and drilling. Assembles detail fittings such as nuts, sleeves, and collars to tubing. Operates oven at required temperatures to form nylon, plastic and shrink tubing. May assemble several pieces of tubing where locations and procedures are simple or are controlled by furnished fixtures. Performs touch up Chem Film to tube assemblies as required. Performs tubing operations relative to trim shells.

      Desired skills

      Perform setups on various types of tube bending machines, including large power and Computer Controlled (CNC, NC, DNC) benders as well as hand benders with different type of alloys 0.250” to 4.00” thick.

      Uses master template and/or computers to measure and inspect parts against the master tube data.

      Sets up and operates various types of tube swaging machines.

      Performs flaring, beading and burring as required.

      Operates pressure testing machines using air, hydraulic oil or water.

      Sets up and operate semi-automatic identification tape applicator.

      Work Schedule Information

      Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
