UK GTC Capability Manager - Manufacturing Process Development

- Manage the technology portfolio ensuring The GTC has the required people and equipment capabilities to meet on-going project requirements whilst also overseeing the reporting of key performance indicators
- Oversee and actively promote GKN's comprehensive Personal Development Plan, giving precedence to the technical and professional growth of your team members
- Lead and oversee the execution of GKN’s People Engagement Process, driving all engagement related initiatives aimed at enhancing involvement and team satisfaction
- Lead deployed resources and manage the recruitment process for any new resources ensuring that the allocation of resources aligns seamlessly with the prevailing demand
- Manage your local budget for equipment, safety equipment calibration and consumables. Additionally, lead the installation process for any new technical equipment
- Conduct regular team meetings and 1-2-1 catch-up with your team members, providing a forum for open communication and collaboration. Demonstrating your proactive leadership and accountability for individual development and well-being
- Establish and develop a talent pipeline designed to address the long-term skills and capability requirement in your area, encompassing individuals with advanced degrees such as PhD’s/EngD’, among others
- Establish a comprehensive STEM network that encompasses educational institutions inclusive of schools, colleges, universities, as well as research centres and relevant organisations such as catapults
- Ensure adherence to GKN EH&S policies and procedures including; risk assessments, safety tours, monitoring and reporting key H&S metrics to create a secure and inclusive workplace
- Demonstrable and extensive experience in developing people and nurturing talent
- Experience in liaising with operational business functions such as facilities and maintenance
- Demonstrable and extensive experience in leading multi-discipline technical teams/people
- A strong technical understanding of GKN’s key manufacturing process development areas such as: Thermoset Composites and Additive Manufacturing
- A degree in a related subject
- Competitive salary dependent on experience
- £5,500 car allowance per annum

As a Capability Manager you will draw upon your broad operational or engineering background and outstanding people leadership skills to help develop and grow the people capability and equipment capability in your area and in-line with the overarching GTC Technical Capability Strategy. You will be responsible for supporting GKN’s technology project portfolio across all business lines by ensuing that each project has the required capability to deliver. Importantly, you will be responsible for keeping your people safe and ensuring that any equipment or working areas owned by you comply with the GKN safety standards and policies. By constantly engaging with, listening to and supporting your team, you will endeavour to make your team a high performing and highly engaged team.
