      The Team: The Media team leads all online and offline media strategy, planning and execution. Our group is responsible for executing best in class marketing communication by collaborating with multiple teams – both across the internal organization as well as with our external agency partners.

      Job Description

      The Opportunity:

      We are seeking a highly motivated interns to join our team in El Segundo. The internship runs 10-12 weeks and consists of three elements:

      • Individual: Day-to-day and special project responsibilities
      • Group: Work in a cross-functional intern group on a project that will be presented to senior management at the end of the internship.
      • Networking: Various information sessions, field trips, meet & eat lunches with executives, and networking events.

      Mattel is currently seeking a Media Intern in El Segundo, California. Primary responsibilities include development, execution and monitoring of all media plans in partnership with the Manager & Sr. Manager. The right person for this job has a passion for media planning and can thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment. Expect a role that mixes creativity with analytics, data & insights.

      What Your Impact Will Be:

      • Collaborate cross functionally between internal Mattel teams & external agency partners to ensure holistic execution of media plans
      • Connect creative assets with media strategy to drive performance
      • Monitor and optimize media plans to meet delivery goals across all partners & campaigns. Maximize each execution by continuously refining the partner selection, contextual alignment & targeting
      • Analyze data sets like YouTube performance data, Nielsen TV Ratings and Numerator Media competitive. Interpret and translate the data into actionable insights
      • Summarize weekly media optimizations into digestible formats that can be shared internally
      • Build and maintain vendor relationships to stay on top of relevant industry trends and strategies. Schedule partner meetings to support media team & expand industry knowledge

      Qualifications

      What We’re Looking For:

      • Must have a passion for media, marketing & data insights
      • Excellent verbal and written communications
      • Detail oriented and organized
      • A team player who can prioritize and juggle multiple tasks, work in a fast-paced environment, and collaborate with multiple partner groups
      • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, particularly Excel and Powerpoint
      • Previous billing experience helpful
      • Previous experience with Media Reporting Tools a plus (ex: Nielsen, Numerator, Ad Intel, Kantar, etc.)
      • Previous experience in-platform experience on YouTube, Facebook, and other Social Media also a plus
      • Enrolled in an accredited university undergraduate program as a rising senior undergraduate - graduating in 2025

      Hourly:
      The base hourly rate for this position is $23.00.
