- Work collaboratively with the University of Gloucestershire as the Higher Education Institutes(HEI) delivering the Blended Learning Nursing Degree programme; and with clinical staff toimplement the NMC and HEI requirements in supporting pre registered nurses to delivereffective, high quality, safe patient centred care.
- Facilitate the development of post-registered nurses and practitioners to supervise and fairly assess pre-registration nurses. This includes developing the clinical skills of student nurses in practice and simulated practice.
- Raise awareness of registered practitioners' accountability in the context of supervision and assessment and ensuring compliancy with NMC requirements.
- Educate and work closely with Supervisors, Assessors, Practice Educators and Education Leads to support student nurses.
- Promote the use of CLiP model in practice in suitable areas through the use of negotiatingskills, self awareness and effective communication.
- Work towards developing a coaching model in clinical practice where students are encouraged to take the lead in their practice, caring for their own patient group and supporting the learning through identified daily learning outcomes.
- Prepare staff and students for the CLiP expectations, for example arranging induction preplacement for students; facilitating teaching sessions; student and staff presentations in collaboration with the Coach in Practice.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with NMC registration
- Evidence of continuous professional development to post graduate level
- A recognised assessor/mentor qualification of evidence of working towards this.
- Knowledge of placement coordination within practice and wider health & social care partners
- Significant relevant clinical experience
- Able to demonstrate effective consolidation of nursing knowledge & practice
- Proven ability to coordinate people and projects, and establish strong relationships
- Ability to make decisions autonomously when required on difficult issues working to tight and often changing timescales
- Proven track record or working as a preceptor/mentor/facilitator.
- Experience of clinical coaching and using the CliP model

Job summary
The Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) is an experienced Registered Nurse who is committed to developing Pre-registered nurses to deliver effective, high quality, safe patient centred care.In this role, you will work closely with nursing staff in practice across partner organisations in Bristol North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) STP and develop pre-registration students, their Practice Supervisors and Assessors; to support placements for the BNSSG Bristol Pod of the University of Gloucestershire and Blended Learning Nursing Degree. They will collaborate closely with the Blended Learning Nursing Degree Coach in Practice.
This role is one that is very unique. It covers a wide area across the BNSSG footprint. You willwork across lots of different organisations using highly effective communication skills and building greatrelationships. You'll also be able to work in different areas/settings to ensure the students andstaff working with students gains the experience and support from the post holder.
