Upper School - Commit to providing support, messaging, actions, and opportunities to a diverse student-athlete population, their families, and coaches who come to school with different and evolving lived experiences.
- Create and run set-up and break-down plans for all on-campus events.
- Organize and lead a team of volunteers for home football games held off campus.
- Build, manage and communicate with volunteer teams needed for hosting events.
- Oversee facilities to ensure that everything is in working order and safe.
- Communicate with the maintenance department when facilities or equipment need work.
- Manage, along with the associate director, team-specific equipment and apparel.
- Build positive relationships with coaches and athletes so they see this person as a trusted resource.
- Promote balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director and Associate Director of Athletics.
- Demonstrated technological proficiency (PC/Windows platform, Microsoft Office, Adobe suite and athletics-specific databases).
- Enthusiasm for the role of education-based athletics.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions. Candidates will understand different perspectives, interact respectfully with cultures other than their own, and cultivate meaningful relationships with people who have different cultural frameworks.
- Vision and creativity for athletics, specifically in planning and organization.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently on long-term projects.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, necessary for messaging to students, employees, and parents/guardians, officials, and opponents.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Satisfactorily complete three criminal background checks.
- A valid Washington State driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience managing and leading some component of a middle or secondary-school athletics program, collegiate program, or community-based athletics program.
- If not already certified, the person hired must obtain First Aid and CPR certifications immediately.
- While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms and carry office related supplies and equipment.
- Walk from Upper School to Middle School campus (about 3 long blocks away).
- Move around on multiple surfaces including sports fields and courts, sometimes for extended periods of time.
- Lift up to 25 pounds overhead.
- Lift and set up furniture (chairs/tables) and sports equipment.
- Standing/sitting for long period of time during event days which exceed eight hours.
- Potential exposure to dust.
- Exposure to outside weather conditions such as rain, snow, wind and fog.

Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for an Upper School Event/Facility/Equipment Manager to begin August 1, 2025. Reporting to the Director and Associate Director of Athletics, this person is part of an interscholastic athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most of which have both sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The manager will provide critical support and oversight ensuring that home events run professionally and smoothly; and that facilities and equipment are organized, safe, and ready for use. This is a 0.75 FTE position that is overtime eligible. The ideal candidate will join a diverse team of colleagues who are energetic, creative, collaborative, and constantly exploring new ways to effectively serve student-athletes, their families, and coaches.

Salary and Benefits
This is a benefited, salary non-exempt position expected to work 30 hours per week for approximately 42 weeks. The annual salary range is $39,262-$43,016, which is based on a $31 - $34 hourly range.
