      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a part of the North Manchester Urgent Care services with mental health liaison and home-based treatment teams. A support worker post is available in each team. You will be working with a dynamic, enthusiastic and compassionate team who will support you in your development and skills within urgent care.

      The successful candidate will be a part of the multi-disciplinary teams and contribute to patient care and service development. Both teams involve assessing patients and providing support to those who are experienced a self-defined crisis. As a support worker within the services your role will be vital in continuing the recover for our services users and providing support to their carers.

      Main duties of the job

      For a successful candidate for MHLT your duties will include:

      • Carrying out assigned duties from the Shift Coordinator, involving direct care and observation of service users under the guidance and indirect supervision of qualified staff, reporting back any observations made whilst providing care to the wider team.
      • Supporting service users waiting for assessment in the Emergency Department/wider hospital site (including 136 suite), providing emotional support, guidance and brief interventions where indicated.
      • Liaising with other services & collecting information to ensure a joined-up approach to care for service users.
      • Whilst it is envisaged that the post holder will predominantly work within the MHLT, there may also be an expectation to support other Urgent Care services within the division, dependent on service requirement.

      For a successful candidate for HBTT your duties will include:

      • The post holder will provide support.
      • Give time to an allocated group of service users and promote their Recovery.
      • They will assist the Named Worker in completing psychosocial assessments and interventions relevant to the service user and provide carer support as needed.
      • Whilst it is envisaged that the post holder will predominantly work within the HBTT, there may also be an expectation to support other Urgent Care services within the division, dependent on service requirement.
