- High school diploma required
- Fluent in English (reading, writing and oral)
- 3-5 years of clinical experience
- Certification required
- Dentistry skills including extractions
- Excellent communication and time management skills

- Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.
- Hospital Support
- Ensure a smooth workflow and direct team members as needed to ensure that we provide excellent patient care in a timely manner
- Responsible for creating and releasing the Technician department schedule in a timely manner
- Responsible for taking part in Technician department meetings
- Order and maintain the appropriate inventory of medical supplies for the hospital, including Controlled Substances
- Training
- Mentor technicians within the department and help to grow their skills thru firsthand experience the goal of improving overall patient care
- Engage in solution-focused discussions to promote support staff input and collaboration
- Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboarding of new associates
- Retention
- Foster enthusiasm for learning and career growth in all staff
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative and respectful team culture
- Venipuncture
- Catheter placement
- Radiology
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Physical examinations and patient assessment
- Surgical preparation and assisting

- Salary range is hourly depending on experience and skill level and can vary from $25.00 to $29.50 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Lead to join our team of dedicated veterinary professionals at our fast-paced multi-doctor practice located in Long Beach. Our practice provides high-quality care to our patients with a positive, team-oriented work environment.
The ideal candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen. As Technician Lead you will work with members of the Hospital Leadership team on the development, mentorship and retention of the other Veterinary Technicians and Assistants in your department.
